SAS 70

Torbilon is proud to confirm that the facility powering our hosting infrastructure maintains compliance with annual SAS 70 Type II examinations.

The examinations, performed by Deloitte & Touche, LLP, looks into the sustainability of the controls and safeguards as well as the operating effectiveness of those controls within the processes of its data centers. By completing the SAS 70 Type II examinations, the datacenter is reaffirming its commitment to its customers by helping them address their control requirements over the processing of financial data and other sensitive company information under Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 (“SOX 404”).

According to Deloitte & Touche, LLP, companies are placing greater pressure and reliance on their service providers and their controls environment to assist in managing their own risk. As a result, an increasing number of service providers are completing SAS 70 Type II examinations to help their customers mitigate their risk and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley.

SAS 70 (Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70) Type II examination is the authoritative guidance that allows service organizations to share information with its customers related to its internal controls. The information in the examination surrounds the company’s financial transaction processing and assesses its operational measures and defined control objectives. Key areas of examination for the data center included physical access to facilities, logical access to systems, problem resolution, change management and environmental controls.
